Fläkt Woods has won a highly unusual contract at the new Dubai International Airport. The Company is supplying large axial fans to precisely force intake air into large underground air handling units that are delivering the air conditioning to the new concourse 3. (13419)
With summer temperatures regularly in the mid 40’s, the engineers on the project specified Fläkt Woods Axicent large aerofoil fans. These fans are capable of accurately pushing air into the below ground intake ducts of the air handling units to ensure they work effectively to cool the new concourse areas.

Fläkt Woods has been awarded the contract to supply the ventilation solutions on the Valsassina Tunnel which connects the Italian city of Lecco to the Valsassina valley. (13418)
The mixed type ventilation system consists of two large ventilation rooms (called Lecco and Bione) and 67 of the Company’s Jet Thrust Fans, constructed in stainless steel and certified for operation in emergency situations at 400°C for a maximum of two hours. The fans are positioned over the tunnel entrances, along the side roads and near to the slipways.

Fläkt Woods has been awarded a contract to supply new energy efficient fans, which are replacing Fläkt Woods Varofoil fans that have been used to circulate the air at the historic Cathays Park Building in Cardiff, UK, since 1980. (13417)
Cathays Park is the head office complex for the Welsh Assembly Government and former home of the Welsh Office. The building has until now been ventilated by Fläkt Woods’ Varofoil fans. These have been running continuously for 27 years.

Iowa Machinery, a division of MH Equipment Company, has teamed with the Iowa Cubs baseball team located in Des Moines in an effort to provide baseball fans with a ‘lift’. (13416)

Nate Teut with the I-Cubs approached us and asked if we would be interested in providing the ballpark with some personnel carriers that they could use as shuttles to transport fans from the new parking area to the stadium. Well, thanks to our friends in Louisville, we were able to find equipment that matched their needs! So, in a three season agreement to provide the I-Cubs with the personnel carriers they needed, Iowa Machinery has traded the use of two Motrec E4808s for a variety of promotional opportunities. As you will see from the attached pictures, we have been given signage on the tarp cover along the third base wall. This is a huge sign – over 20 feet in length! In addition to the tarp cover, we also received tickets, ‘courtesy’ signage on the personnel carriers, radio advertisements slotted for each game and much more! In addition, there is also the opportunity for us to place more units in the future which will result in even more promotional opportunities!
